Any and all running costs should be relied upon as estimates only. Independent Energy Consultancy, Energy Consult Pty Ltd was engaged to calculate estimated per annum energy costs of Dux water heaters in different locations across Australia. Energy Consult have undertaken similar assignments for Sustainability Victoria and in 2010 produced the Government report "Estimated Hot Water System Running Costs in Victoria." The same methodology used to develop the report for Sustainability Victoria was applied to the calculation of energy running costs for each Dux water heater. This methodology utilises TRNSYS outputs of water heaters for each climatic zone, estimated hot water loads to the Australian Standard 4234:2008 and current energy tariffs. Energy consumption figures are based on AS4234 TRNSYS modelling. The amount of energy (MJ) used per day is calculated from answers provided in the Hot Water Selector. This MJ rating is then grouped into either a medium or large load size according to AS4234 in order to determine estimated energy use by system type. Estimated yearly running cost savings are based on the difference between your current hot water system (selected in initial questions) and installing the recommended systems.
Energy tariffs have been provided by Energy Consult Pty Ltd and are current as per the report prepared on 28th June 2016. NT uses Brisbane tariff. ACT tariffs were sourced from ActewAGL
